Netherland 16th birthday party turns violent due to wrong Facebook privacy setting
A Facebook Birthday Party Invitation went Viral and Turns Violent in Small Dutch Town in Netherland
A girl's 16th birthday party ended in violence after her Facebook invite went viral and was received by 30,000 people.
Thousands
of uninvited guests arrived for the bash after the teenager mistakenly
sent what should have been a private message to thousands due to her wrong Facebook Privacy( Public or Private) setting.
And events turned ugly with revelers clashing with police in the small town of Haren in Holland on Friday night.
Up to 600 riot police fought running battles with youths intent on causing trouble.
Shops were vandalized and looted, a car set on fire, and street signs and lampposts damaged, according to reports. Six people were hurt, including three seriously, and 34 were arrested in the clashes.
Pictures from the scene showed party-goers wearing T-shirts with “Project X” written on them — apparently a reference to the movie “Project X”, in which three high school seniors throw a party that gets out of control as word spreads.
